THE ROUNDUP

Well, it’s the time of year again when Hollywood’s best wait anxiously for their names to be called for the Oscar Nominations.

However, the next four films should not expect to be mentioned.  They without a doubt proved to be the worst movies of 2010.

Piranha 3-D

Basically, “Piranha 3-D” just another sexed up b-movie for teens, packed with blood, gore and plenty of scantily clad females.

It is clear that the producers spent more money hiring an array of voluptuous models, and used whatever loose change they had left  for special effects.

The movie’s own production company doesn’t even take the film seriously, which almost guarantees it to be a complete dud.

The Last Song

This year it seemed like everywhere we looked, we saw Miley Cyrus’ face.

Whether it was on magazines, CDs or the Disney Channel, I was not surprised that she ended up on the big screen.

Long story short, a troubled teenager moves to a beach town, reconnects with her estranged father and falls in love. I was especially disappointed to see Greg Kinnear go from “Green Zone” with Matt Damon to this film.

Throughout the film, Cyrus makes a pathetic attempt to demonstrate her non-existent acting skills. We can only hope that the title remains truthful in being “The Last”.

The Backup Plan

I just want to start off by saying that Jennifer Lopez should be banned from Hollywood.

Not once have I seen a movie with her that I enjoyed and “The Backup Plan” continues the streak.

The director tried to make the movie seem like another “Baby Mama” or “Knocked Up” but didn’t come anywhere close.

Jonah Hex

Do you remember how it felt for your birthday when you had your heart set on that one thing, but when your birthday came you didn’t receive it? Heartbreaking wasn’t it?

I felt the same way when I saw “Jonah Hex.”

I went in to the theatre expecting a “Shoot ’em up” movie that would get the adrenaline pumping, and the fact that Megan Fox was in it didn’t hurt.

However, walking out of the theatre was a different story.

I was so disappointed I almost felt compelled to ask for a refund. The movie tries to be a hip western re-invention to appeal to the younger crowds but fails miserably.
