THE ROUNDUP

The Broncos defeated the Arcadia Titans Saturday at McClintock High School by a score of 79 to 58 to win their first game of the Holiday Shootout tournament.

After a close first quarter, the Broncos overcame Arcadia’s full court press and jumped out to a 13 point lead at halftime.

Pressure from Arcadia caused Brophy a few costly turnovers in the first quarter, but Brophy was able to move ahead with crisp passes and quick scoring.

Matthew Kempton ’17 led the Broncos in scoring at halftime with 11 points, but was held scoreless in the second half after two quick fouls put him in foul trouble.

The Broncos had five players finish with double-digit points.

Ryan Meza ’17 led the Broncos in scoring with 18 points.

The Broncos ultimately finished the game with a 21 point lead over the Titans to move ahead in the tournament.
