Each year since 1990, members of Brophy’s sophomore class have spent the month of June tutoring a collection of Phoenician children as a part of the Summer Loyola Project.
As summer approaches, students are counting down the days until that final bell rings and they rush to soak up some sun.
With summer break comes summer blockbusters, and this summer is jam packed with a remarkable lineup of movie releases.
While many students may have taken time off over the summer to relax, The Roundup was still active bringing you updates on summer movies, Brophy’s track team’s success at the Nike National tournament and summer immersion trips and debuting several new online blogs.
Over the summer The Roundup also debuted two new online blogs: My Two Cents and The Bronco Beat.
My Two Cents is an opinion column giving The Roundup writers a voice on current local, national and global issues. News Editor Rohan Andresen ’12 was the first post to this blog with a post about his experiences on the Puebla immersion trip this summer.
The calm hum of music and insurmountable screams of the cheering crowd could be heard as my friend and I pulled into the Cricket Pavilion parking lot on June 29 to attend the highly renowned Vans Warped Tour.
This year, and in years prior, the famous Warped Tour has been known to serve multiple genres with myriad bands for 15 years.
Some very well known bands and artists performed this year, including 3OH!3, Mike Posner, Motion City Soundtrack, The All American Rejects, Sum 41 and many other just as talented bands.
Attention all students: Summer vacation is not too far away.
The days of seemingly endless school days and countless hours of homework are soon to be over—at least for a short time.
If you are taking summer school, then you may face homework filled afternoons but definitely not like those of the regular school year. With one or maybe two classes, there will still be free time in the summer and after summer school there is still a month of school-less-ness.
No travel plans, summer school or video games?
Want to avoid the heat wave?
No sweat. The Roundup columnists and staff have come up with a list of activities to keep you cool and entertained this summer.
The winter Olympics are officially over.
Over several weeks athletes were able to showcase their different winter skills in the two week event held in Vancouver, Canada.
But how many watched the winter Olympics compared to the people who watch the Summer Olympics?
