THE ROUNDUP
The athletic community gathered to watch ten students sign their letters of intent to play collegiate level sports on February 7.
Brophy had signees from the football, soccer, golf, and rowing programs.
Ross Reiter ’18 was the longsnapper for the football team for the last four seasons. Reiter will continue his athletic and academic career at Colorado State. He believes he has worked hard to get to this point and says he is not done improving himself just yet.
“Right now, I’m trying to get my body bigger and faster. Of course, I still snap everyday. You can never stop improving as a longsnapper so I always have stuff to work on.” Reiter said.
Four soccer players signed their letters of intent, including the team’s lead scorer Carter Clemmensen ’18.
“It feels great to be committed. I’m excited to showcase myself on a bigger stage. The college soccer season is only three months of the year and I’ll have a lot of time to stay on top of my grades.” Clemmensen said.
Clemmensen will attend UC Santa Barbara in the Fall.
Three other soccer players signed their letter of intent. Tobin Shanks ’18 will attend Southern Methodist University. Connor McCabe ’18 is heading to Northwestern and Sam Fletcher ’18 will join Clemmensen at UC Santa Barbara.
Football also had three other players commit. Brandon Krupp ’18 will attend Bowdoin. Erik DiMaria ’18 heads to Northern Arizona University. Xavier Juniel ’18 will go to Mesa Community College.
Kyle Harrison ’18 will join Northwestern University’s rowing team in the fall.
Brophy’s Athletic Director Bill Woods stated he is proud of the commits. “National Signing Day is the culmination and celebration of the hard work these athletes have put in.” Woods said.
