The Brophy crew team finished 3rd overall and had several podium finishes in last weekend’s Presidents’ Day regatta.
The regatta took place at the Long Beach Marine Stadium and served as the first major competition of the spring season. The team faced tough opponents from all over the region, including several rowers expected to compete at the Division I schools. Despite the challenging field, Brophy’s athletes delivered impressive performances across multiple races.
Quincy Sweet captured gold in the men’s singles, showcasing a strong performance throughout the event. The U-17 quad—Aden Sulit, Lucas Crooks, Beckham Belaski, and Connor Nixon—also brought home gold for their category, while Crooks and Belaski added a silver in men’s doubles to their medal haul.
In other results, the men’s Youth 2V bronze went to Hudson Pozun, Cayden Luoma, Logan Wong, and Matthew Kravets. The men’s U-17 quad bronze was claimed by Dean Moseke, Wyatt Willis, Tate Riddell, and Colby Entringer.
Connor Nixon ‘28 says that winning proves that all the effort he put in during the off-season and practices is worth it in the end. This was an impressive and great starting point for the rest of the season, and they are already preparing for Saturday, 14 February.
