Tim Kempton ’13 and James Harper ’12 each scored 14 points to help lead Brophy to a 67-35 win over an aggressive Highland basketball team Feb. 2.
“It was to prepare for a very physical game,” Coach Tony Fuller said in response to being when asked about his game plan.
Highland committed 10 second half fouls and turned the ball over multiple times.
Highland pulled three of their five starters out of the game early when they picked up their fourth foul.
“Jordan Medl (’12) did a marvelous job of containing their leading scorer No.33, Toolson,” Fuller said.
Medl held Toolson to 16 points, and finished with 10 points of his own and three rebounds
Brophy held the lead from beginning to end building on a 20-10 lead at the end of the first to a 36-17 halftime lead.
Kempton dropped 14 points and grabbed 7 rebounds, coming close to a double double.
Other leading scorers include Harper with 14 points and Fredrick Gammage ’12 with 11 points and 5 assists.
Mr. Fuller said he was pleased with his team’s performance.
“It was a good game for us, I thought we accepted the challenge.” Mr. Fuller said. “I did have a bad feeling; I thought they played a little dirty out there.”
