Track returns key talent from championship year for new season

A year after winning its first state championship and competing at the Nike Track Nationals, the Brophy track team returns with multiple athletes from last season.

However, the Broncos will be without a few talented athletes from last season. Most notably, Will Firth ’11 and Tommy Williams ’11 have graduated since guiding the Broncos to the state championship last May.

Rower Nelson discovers niche on the water

Matt Nelson ’12 started rowing for the Brophy crew team only two years ago, but in that time he has blossomed into one of the top rowers on the squad and his love for the sport continues to grow.

“I really enjoy going to practice and getting away from all the stress of college applications and homework,” Nelson said. “When I am out on Tempe Town Lake, I am completely relaxed and think about nothing but my technique.”
