Turkey Drive encourages students to take action on behalf of poor

Hunger and poverty are severe problems in America, and in a down economy, the problem is only getting worse.

According to feedingamerica.org, in 2009, 43.6 million people (14.3 percent of the total population) in America were living in poverty, and in 2008, 49.1 million Americans lived in household where a food supply was insecure.

This is where Brophy stops in and lends a hand each November with the Turkey Drive.

Students bring in the stuffing for Turkey Drive

Gobble Gobble!

It’s that time of year again. The air is chilly and teachers are handing out projects and tests like candy to prepare for the end of the semester. As students prepare to go on break, the Brophy community is also remembering the less fortunate, in the form of the Turkey Drive.

Kicking off Nov. 2 at the All Saints Day Mass, students saw Danny Wilson ’10 and Mr. Tim Broyles take the stage.
