Three Broncos earned state championships and the Brophy track team finished fourth overall in the 5A-I state championship meet Saturday, May 15.
The team finished behind Chandler, Mesa Mountain View and Desert Vista after score 75 total points in the meet.
State champion Harry Danilevics ’10 won the 300-meter intermediate hurdles with a time of 37.24 seconds, which places fifth on the list of fastest times in Arizona track and field history. The time is also a new school record.
Alex Bishop ’10 won the pole vault event with a five meter vault, the sixth best vault in Arizona history and also a new school record, beating the former record of 16 feet by five inches.
Tommy Williams ’11 won the 1600-meter run with a time of 4:21.10. Williams scored the most points for the Brophy team.
Other top performances included freshman Devon Allen ’13 placing third in the 100-meter dash, James Harper ’12 placing fourth in the high jump with a sophomore school record 6-feet-four-inch jump, Geoff Roxborough ’10 came in second in the discus throw and Will Firth ’11 came in sixth in the 3200-meter run and had a personal best time of 9:41.52.
