Alfred Kattan ’28 came into his Junior year with some new ideas on how he wanted to spend his last two years at Brophy. 

After choosing to give up football last year, Kattan has been using his time to pursue a lot of other passions. 

A broadcaster for Brophy Athletics, Kattan commentates on a lot of sports events and conducts interviews.

“I broadcast for Brophy Athletics. And what that, like, kind of entails is I commentate the games for most sports. And then I conduct interviews as well. And I kind of wanted to, I stopped playing football last year due to personal reasons,” Kattan said.

Expanding his media experience, Kattan has become a member of The Roundup, the student newspaper of Brophy College Prep. Kattan thinks this will improve his broadcasting capabilities.

“And I really wanted to, like, stay involved with athletics and kind of, like, fill that, kind of, that free time. And so I thought the roundup would be a great way to, like, really take the broadcasting seriously,” said Kattan.

Kattan looks forward to this new year, and so far things are looking good.

“I mean, I think jury’s still out. It’s, what, the second week of school? I mean, everything, like, relatively, thank God, has been going well. And I think it’s shaping up to continue to go well. But, I mean, like, keep my fingers crossed that all of it ends up going well,” Kattan said.
