O’Neill’s swimming background creates coaching success

Ever since his first year of coaching the Brophy swim team in 2006, head coach Mr. Pat O’Neill’s record has showed nothing but success.

Mr. O’Neill began swimming at the age of six and started coaching the sport in college. Starting in 1997, he coached the Mesa Mountain View swim team for nine years before he came to Brophy to coach and teach math.

Fuller coaches team to 21-win season

Varsity basketball player Justin Hamman ’11 summed up coach Mr. Tony Fuller with two definitions.

“If coach Fuller was defined in a dictionary, the first line would read: a true enthusiast to the game of basketball, originated in Detroit. The second line would read: The characteristic of always putting the well-being of one’s players before one’s enthusiasm, with occasional increases in volume of voice.”

For one of the few times in Brophy’s history, this year the basketball team with coach Mr. Fuller made it to the state championship.

Galante reveals himself as true renaissance man

Brophy varsity football Defensive Coordinator Mr. Gary Galante is more than the tough specimen who lives in the basement of Loyola Hall.

In his youth, his life revolved heavily around the small church where his father was a minister. There he would sing with his family.
