At 6 feet 3 inches tall and 185 pounds, junior defenseman Charlie Hushek ’12 is a long stick midfielder on the varsity lacrosse team and has been on the varsity squad for three years now.
He verbally committed to play Division I lacrosse at Bryant University in Providence, R.I.
“I am really happy for Charlie and his commitment to Bryant. He is a great guy and works hard on and off the field,” said midfielder Brock Ghelfi ’12.

Brophy varsity wrestler Marshall Varner ’13 displays an aggressive and ferocious attitude on the mat.
His innate ability last year gained him a top place in the state as a freshman.
He said his goal is to win the individual state championship this year after finishing fifth at the state tournament last year in the 140-pound weight class.
There is confidence and hype surrounding Varner this year with the possible goal of winning state although he is now in the 145-pound weight class.

Brophy wide receiver Fred Gammage ’12 has racked up almost 400 receiving yards and has scored four touchdowns this season.
But you probably won’t hear it from him.
The quiet junior prefers to let his actions speak for himself.
Gammage stands five feet, nine inches tall and weighs 160 pounds.

Since age 10 Sai Tummala ’11 has been playing basketball. Today, at 6’7 and 193 pounds Tummala is the starting center for the Brophy varsity basketball team.
“Being taller than everybody else my skill came naturally,” Tummala said.
“The feeling I get when I have the ball in my hands, getting ready to make the shot … it’s indescribable,” he said.
Since the fith grade, Brophy star runner Will Firth ’11 has been competing in some way or another.
He said he only began running cross country to train for his primary sport, tennis, but after winning a few races his eighth-grade year, he began to take it more seriously.
“It wasn’t until my freshman year in high school that I ran cross country,” Firth said, “I really blossomed and I started running really well and became a part of the varsity cross country team.”
