By now we’ve all heard the popular Apple slogan “there’s an app for that,” and this undoubtedly has some truth to it.
In the peak of the digital age, according to Nielsen research firm, approximately 44 percent of Americans now own smartphones, compared to only 18 percent two years ago, and with all these smartphones comes a myriad of apps.

In the busy office of K13, Mr. Mark Pettit is surrounded by computers and at the top of the stacks are the new Lenova laptops Brophy supplies to freshmen.

THE ROUNDUP
Toshiba has been the face of Brophy technology for years and now Lenovo will likely be replacing the school’s computers.
The incoming freshmen will receive these new Tablets, and the price will be about the same as what previous classes had to pay for the Toshiba units.
The Issue: Brophy has a bright future but needs some changes in order to achieve its full potential.
Our Stance: Adopting changes in our technology program, student health system, campus sustainability and general attitude is necessary.
The Brophy community has grown a lot in recent years, both physically and intellectually.
The growth in different areas has been evident and positive for this school, but there is still progress to be made.
One of the major issues Brophy must further embrace is sustainability on campus.
After the 2010 Summit on the environment, Brophy’s efforts to make the campus more sustainable accelerated, leading to new programs being put in place to foster environmental responsibility on campus.

The Apple iPad is completely new to the precipitous platform where all great technological advances have stood.
To be released in March, Apple Senior Vice President Phil Schiller claims that the iPad “is going to change the way we do the things we do, everyday.”
“I use Facebook every day,” typed Greg Ali ’12 and Christopher Frame ’12 in an interview conducted on the social networking site.
“It allows for communication in a way I’ve never experienced before,” Ali added.
According to the Web site “All Facebook,” Facebook users, now in the 400 millions, share five times more than they did six months ago, bringing the average status amount to 12 per week.
