This year Brophy debuts an Alumni Service Corps similar to those found in many Jesuit high schools and universities around the nation.
According to the Brophy website, this program is a “post-college service program for Brophy graduates, and graduates of other Jesuit high schools.”

Not only have the temperatures reached their highs but so too have the expectations for this year’s Brophy football season.

Coming off their second state championship in a row, the Brophy tennis team is setting the bar high despite what the “experts” think.
“Everyone else’s expectations are that we are going to be runners-up for state to Salpointe,” wrote Kyle Chalmers ’13. “However, I feel that my team and I believe that we can win state. It is just whether we perform to our potential or not.”
Varsity head coach Mr. Bill Woods agreed.
“I think it would be the same expectations as every year that we would compete and be one of those teams that has a chance at the end of the season to play for a state championship,” Mr. Woods said.

Despite the fact that many speakers at last year’s Summit on Human Dignity on globalization urged students to enact changes in their lifestyle, it isn’t hard to find students filling the halls with Nike shoes and socks on their feet.
Still, other students and faculty members have made changes in their lives.
“I haven’t done anything to change, but my best friend, Anthony Broglia ’11, hasn’t bought Nike products since then,” said Justin Dizon ’11.

In “Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby,” NASCAR driver Ricky Bobby lives by the motto “If you ain’t first, you’re last.”
This win-or-go-home attitude has extended from the surreal world of Hollywood action comedies to the all-too real world of high school athletics.
Brophy is seen by many as an athletic powerhouse. Visitors who enter the Robson Gymnasium will see the multitude of championship banners that plaster the interior of the gym like red and white wallpaper.
But with such levels of success comes an expectation to win that has its drawbacks for student athletes today.
