The Brophy Pickleball Club is heading in a new direction this year, with big changes in leadership and goals. Mr. Patrick Higgins has stepped in as moderator, replacing Mr. Paul Fisko, while Colin St. Hilaire ’27 joins returning leader Muraad Irfan ’26 as co-president.
For years, the club has been a popular way for students to have fun and enjoy community period, with groups walking to the Xavier tennis courts to play friendly games of pickleball. But as membership has grown, so have the goals of the club. This year, the club is looking beyond casual matches and plans to compete in organized tournaments as a team.
Although the tournament schedule and exact plans are not yet finalized, Irfan is very optimistic about the idea. “We hope to be entering tournaments as a club to help all members of the club get better and gain experience,” he said.
Irfan also highlighted how the new leadership is helping the club move forward and grow. “The change of leadership has made the club a lot more organized because we have presidents dedicated to different areas.”
With new leadership and competitive goals, the Brophy Pickleball Club is ready to bring it’s game to the next level.
