Brophy expects to begin major construction plans on campus with the scheduled relocation of the Central Plant in the next two years, according to Coach Danny Gurrola. The relocation will mark the beginning of a four-step plan that will dictate renovations over the next decade.
The plant, which has been in operation since 2005, has started to deteriorate after years of use. It is expected to replace the existing pavilion, a popular area of campus where students sit and socialize. Once removed, plans for the construction of a new Keating Building are expected to take its place.
“The benefits will result in a more efficient cooling and heating system throughout the school, Gurolla said, It will also make managing our drinking water much easier”.
By putting this project at the start of a 4-step plan, Brophy’s campus will be committed to improving and modernizing the campus.
Although removing a key part of the Brophy experience for many students, the relocation will improve the campus for future classes to come.
