Over the Summer, Davis Enterprises has increased the price of their parking permits to $1,200 for this school year.
The $200 price increase was made visible by comparing the company’s announcements for the parking permit this year to last year’s announcement which noted a $1,000 price for a parking permit.
The permits given by Davis Enterprises allow people to park in the parking lot near the Famé on Central and Highland for the entire school year.
When asked if the pricing increase was reasonable, Jake Capampangan ‘27 said, “No, it’s a scam. But I do find it to be worth it”.
Capampangan also said, “It’s just convenience and a sense of freedom or comfort that I wouldn’t have if I had some random kid in the car”.
Brophy’s current 2026-2027 Student Parking Guidelines hold that Juniors and Seniors with a carpool are allowed to park on campus on the South Parking Lot, the North Lot, and the large parking lot north of Loyola Hall with a parking permit.
The Student Parking Guidelines also hold that all Sophomores must have a sticker in order to be allowed to park in the Post Office Parking Lot. Juniors and Seniors without a carpool may also park in this space.
Miles Lunt ‘27 stated that parking at the Davis Enterprises lot is more convenient and allows him to lose worry about finding a parking spot because “The company gives you a sticker with a number on it, and each spot has a corresponding number on it, and you can park in your own spot”.
When speaking about the price increase, Lunt said, “I got to have the same spot, though, so I just felt like it was worth it. Since, you know, more people wanted to go, but as long as I got the same spot, it doesn’t matter to me”.
Jake Capampangan also noted that the biggest advantage of paying to park at the lot was “a sense of security…there’s always someone watching to make sure that people are parking in the right spot”.
