Small delegation takes several awards

The Brophy and Xavier Latin Club attended the Arizona State Junior Classical League Convention Saturday, April 21.
Although they fielded the smallest delegation, they won several awards.
Michael Gaynor ’15 won fifth place on the History Exam, and Jeremiah Johnson ’14 took first place in Latin Sight Reading out of more than 100 students who competed.
The entire team won third place in the Competitive Certamen, in both the intermediate and advanced levels of competition.
The intermediate team was comprised of Gaynor, Sarah Godbehere ’14, Emily Hastings ’14 and Johnson, while the advanced team consisted of Dana Helfenbein ’12, Bill McDonald ’12, Michael McNamara ’12 and Kaylen Waters ’12.
