The Broncos never led in the game against Desert Vista on Thursday, Jan. 19. and ended up losing 59-49

They began the game down 3-0 and were never able to overcome the deficit.

However, the Broncos cut the score to within six points late in the fourth quarter, but missed opportunities down the stretch.

After missing a layup and failing to grab a rebound after two missed free throws, the Thunder were able to extend the lead and take the win on their home court.

Senior Thunder forward Danny Powell and senior guard Jeff Lowery each made both of their sets of free throws in the final minutes to secure the win.

“They’re good, they’ve got a good team,” said coach Mr. Tony Fuller. “They had great quickness; it was hard for us to stay in front of them.”

James Harper ’12 had 21 points, including a last second basket at the end of the first quarter. He led all scorers in the game and also grabbed seven rebounds.

Fred Gammage ’12 added 11 points and Tim Kempton ’13 had six points and 10 rebounds.

The Broncos fall to a 15-6 overall, 7-4 in their division and will face St. Mary’s Saturday, Jan. 21 for their Hoopcoming game.
