THE ROUNDUP
Lego Marvel Superheroes
9 out of 10
The new video game “Lego Marvel Superheroes” brings together every character with a large fan base that marvel has made.
It allows for the player to be a marvel character from The Avengers, to X-Men, to the Fantastic Four and more.
The game also includes a diversity of marvel villains, and it becomes the game player’s job to stop them.
The game also includes things from the Marvel movies, such as players being able to jump off of the Helicarrier, Stark Towers being blown up, and plenty of evil hideouts.
Along with the wide variety of characters comes a variety of abilities. Spider-Man can swing from webs and has a “spidey-sense” to reveal hidden objects.
Characters like Thor and Storm can shoot lightning at enemies, or at objects that need power.
Iron Man and Human Torch can fly, shoot a pulse of energy or fire and have a special laser for getting into secret rooms.
Some new lego characters are also introduced, such as Hulk and Thing who are bigger and stronger than other characters, so they can get into rooms that need strong characters.
The list goes on with the character diversity, and each one brings a special power into the game.
Along with super heroes and powers, the game also involves puzzle solving in missions to move on.
The game has a lot of good qualities, but it also has some bad parts.
One thing that needs to be worked on is the split screen in multiplayer.
The screen splits making each player directly opposite of each other. It flips around a lot and can be difficult to finish missions.
The split screens also sometimes cut out things in the room that are needed to finish the mission, and the players must run around until they find it.
The screen, however, will only split when the players go too far away from each other, so if the players stay close they won’t have this problem.
Overall, I would rate the game a 9 out of 10, for good gameplay but some design flaws.
