The Great Hall saw an influx of students Monday, Aug. 4 as technology staff distributed new iPads to incoming freshmen.
Both freshmen and faculty said the event was successful.
“It’s very organized, it is in one location, very fast … I really like it,” said incoming freshmen Reed Meyer ’18 who was in line to receive an iPad. “I am very excited; I won’t have to carry books around anymore.”
This year faculty eliminated a presentation during rollout regarding the use and specifics of the iPad, according to System Administrator Mr. Mark Pettit.
Instead, freshmen were directed to watch a series of YouTube videos made by Assistant Principal for Technologyand Instruction Mr. Jim Bopp.
“In past years we have used the gym, … we streamlined the process and it’s all here,” Mr. Bopp said. “The process here only takes 15-20 minutes.”
Freshmen will still go through on-campus training sessions later in the week, slated for Aug. 5-8 and scheduled by last name. Click here for more details.
