THE ROUNDUP
The saying goes “Ultimate Frisbee is Ultimate Fun,” The year marks the return of the Ultimate Frisbee club here at Brophy, which meets in Mr. Nate Hester’s room, E201, during the entire lunch period on Thursdays.
There used to be a Ultimate frisbee club on campus but it “never lasted for more than a year or two because they never competed, they never challenged like Sunnyslope”, Mr. Hester said.
The club leader — Andre Bengston ’19 — created this club because last year he played ultimate frisbee in his P.E. class with Mr. Tony Fuller and said he really enjoyed it.
Wanting to give all Brophy students the same fun like Bengston’s class, he created the club.
The club moderators are Mr. Hester and Mr. Mark Pettit.
The club usually meets on the front lawn to play ultimate frisbee after school on Thursdays.
What they do in Mr. Hester’s room is usually talk about technique.
“Hang out, watch ultimate frisbee highlights, and just play.” Bengston said.
“There are about about 41 people in the club” Mr. Hester said, and they are always excepting new members.
If your interested in joining you do not have to bring a single thing except having a great attitude and be willing to have fun, Bengston said.
The club members chose Mr. Hester as one of their moderators because he loved to play Ultimate Frisbee back in college because that’s how he met people and that is how he socialized
Now he wants students to have a similar experience like he had in his college years.
Anyone interested in join the club should send an email to Bengston,abengston19@brophybroncos.org, or the club moderators who are Mr. Hester,nhester@brophyprep.org, and Mr. Pettit, mpettit@brophyprep.org.
