The Brophy Mothers Guild is gearing up to help with the annual Fashion Show, a spring tradition that kicks off the road to graduation for the senior class this April. Beyond the glittering runway, the event plays a crucial role in supporting Brophy’s financial aid program, reinforcing the Guild’s deep impact on the school.
The Mothers Guild has been a pillar of the Brophy community, providing volunteer support and fundraising efforts that benefit students and faculty. Originally responsible for organizing major school events, the Guild now works alongside Brophy’s development team to coordinate key fundraisers, including the Fall Auction, Power Breakfast, and the upcoming Spring Fashion Show.
“It’s such a fun day. It’s not just about fashion—it’s a celebration of the senior class, a kickoff to graduation, and a way for families to come together.” said Mrs. Susan Healy, Brophy’s Special Event Manager.
Senior participation is a major part of the event, with students selecting outfits representing retailers, sports teams, or clubs. Behind the scenes, the Mothers Guild ensures everything runs smoothly, from organizing fittings to coordinating the day-of logistics.
“So many of our events are completely volunteer-run, and the Guild plays a huge role in making them successful. The fundraising from these events directly supports financial aid, which helps one in three Brophy students,” said Mrs. Healy.
While the Fashion Show is a highlight, the Mothers Guild’s influence extends far beyond one event. The Power Breakfast, featuring inspiring guest speakers, and the Fall Auction, a major fundraiser, are just a few examples of the Guild’s work in fostering community and financial support.
The women in the Guild also give their time to help strengthen the community in small but still impactful ways. From facilitating the new Clothing Exchange after school, to many mom’s and female guardians servicing the St. Vincent DePaul Food Bank.
“Our events are about more than just raising money. They bring parents together, strengthen the Brophy community, and ensure that all students have the opportunity to thrive,” said Mrs. Lisa Roman, the president of the Mothers Guild.
With each event, the Mothers Guild continues to shape the Brophy experience for students and families. As preparations for the Fashion Show move forward, the Guild remains committed to its mission of service and support.
