The Brophy track team finished in eighth place out of the 12 best teams in the nation last month with approximately 7,200 points in the national championship in Eugene, Ore.
The winning team, Murrieta California, scored around 7,900 total points.
Nike hosted the national championship and as the No. 1 team in the Southwest region Brophy was invited to compete July 2.
Coach Mr. Bill Kalkman wrote in an email that they all had a great time.
While no Broncos achieved personal records in their events, Alex Bishop ’10 won the pole vault competition.
All three of Brophy’s state champions, Bishop, Harry Danilevics ’10 and Tommy Williams ’11, competed in the meet.
Other Brophy competitors included Devon Allen ’13, Josh Dennard ’11, James Harper ’12 and Geoff Roxborough ’10.
The Chandler girls’ team is the 2010 National Champions this year.

The team departs for Eugene again Thursday, Aug. 5 at 7:30 a.m. and will return on Sunday, Aug. 8.
