With the immense popularity of video games it is almost a chore wading through the great, good and bad video games.

Once you get past this there is the added problem, due to the price, of deciding which games you can actually buy.

Here are the five best games, in my opinion, coming out in the next few months.

Medal of Honor (10/12/10)

The best way to describe this game is to call it a cross between Battlefield: Bad Company Two and Modern Warfare Two.

It features large scale combat with up to 12 people on each team, courtesy of the Battlefield series and fast-paced small maps courtesy of Call of Duty.

Whether or not this will be a winning combination remains to be seen.

Call of Duty: Black Ops (PC, 360, Wii: 11/09/10 PS3: 11/11/10)

The newest in the line of an award winning series that really took off with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

This game will take place during the Vietnam War and promises to be as fast paced as its predecessor.

While this is a blockbuster series the last entry, Modern Warfare 2, left a bad taste in my mouth and I have to wonder if they are running out of innovative ideas to put in a game.

Anyway one looks at it, Black Ops will at least deliver the same gameplay people have come to expect of the Call of Duty series.

Assassins Creed: Brotherhood (All systems: 11/16/10)

This new addition in the acclaimed Assassins Creed series continues with the protagonist Ezio (E-TS-I-O) though the player is done exposing the Church’s dirty laundry. Instead the enemy is an offshoot of the church, the Templars.

This is not the most exciting thing about this game due to the announcement that there will be a multiplayer mode. This is definitely a first for Assassins Creed which traditionally has been single player centric.

This game will surely be worth purchase for the always amazing single player. The multiplayer thrown in just emphasizes that any gamer should at least keep an eye on this game.

Fallout: New Vegas (PC, 360: 10/19/10 PS3: 10/21/10)

Players have literally logged hundreds of hours into this single player game which is a testament to how engaging the story is.

Set in a post apocalyptic southwest, the player will of course be able to explore every inch of it while using high tech weapons and gadgets. Any fan of RPGs needs to pick this game up.

NBA 2K11 All systems (Including PS2)(10/5/10)

The first, foremost, and most important thing about this game is you can play as Jordan. Yes, possibly the greatest basketball player of all time is playable and draftable in this newest addition to the series.

The game features stats that update as the games are played this season and a host of new improvements including better controls, polished graphics and an accurate half-time show that sums up the game you are playing.

All of these things mentioned pull together to make the best sports game this year.
