Junior Colin St. Hilaire ’27 balances track, journalism, and his massive 200+ person club. A track and cross country runner since fifth grade, St. Hilaire has developed a competitive edge and a dedication to improvement. “Seeing improvement race after race was motivating,” he said, reflecting on how you compare improvement in running versus soccer. He also competes in cross country and plays soccer.
When not running, St. Hilaire puts his time and energy into journalism. As the managing editor for The Roundup, he plans to run for Editor-in-Chief next year again even though he didn’t get it this year.
St. Hilaire’s leadership extends to Brophy’s Pickleball Club, where he serves as president and is working to establish a competitive team. Introduced to the sport by some friends and his grandma, he’s turned his little hobby into a growing club, with over 200 members this year.
Looking ahead, St. Hilaire hopes to continue running in college while exploring majors like sports medicine, “since I get injured a lot and have spent time in training rooms,” he said. If he doesn’t go into sports med, he would do engineering or business. He said that one of his long-term goals is to get a solid job where he would be able to grow and receive benefits, and enough time off work where he can still put energy into his hobbies.”
