A Washington D.C. native, Gabe Tiano ‘26 has formed his high school journey through leadership, humor, and dedication to his teams and community. Moving to Arizona at the age of nine, Tiano faced the challenge of moving to a new environment. With time, Brophy became more than a school, it was a place for growth and finding his true self.

“Figuring out who I wanted to be in school really helped me figure out who I want to be professionally,” Tiano said

. From being captain of the rowing team to writing for the Roundup as chief editor and stepping onto the JV hockey ice, he has learned the value of teamwork, responsibility, and patience.

Mr. Hooten’s AP U.S. History class sparked his desire to major in history, while his second year across sports and journalism shaped his character and work ethic.

Despite his new roots, Tiano’s childhood in D.C. remains strong. His hopes are to return as a college student at Georgetown University, where he plans to major in history and minor in journalism, shaping his passions for writing, leadership, and community involvement.

“I’m pretty hard to open up,” Tiano said, but a simple conversation reveals a story of development, persistence, and character. His journey is a reminder that the quietest people often have the most to say, showing why he is respected not just as a leader, but as a friend.
