According to a release from Ms. Dorothy Dunnion, “Guys and Dolls” “is a love song to New York, the city that never sleeps, and within it, all human life. From the news seller to the chorus girl, from the gambler to the missionary – all of them are caught up in the teeming vitality of the city streets.”
The production features a cast of Brophy and Xavier singers and dancers, including Andrew Forsyth ’10, Matt Rubbelke ’10, Jean-Luc Cavnar-Lewandowski ’10, Peter Roberts ’10, Edmond Hubbard ’10, Paul Pullin ’11, Rob March ’11, Caroline Dunaway ’10, Chelsea Groen ’10 and 50 others, according to the release.
“I don’t think anyone can watch this show and not fall in love with musical comedy,” Ms. Dunnion said in an e-mail. “I am certain that students can ask anyone who has ever seen any production of “Guys and Dolls,” and they will all get the same response: a big, happy grin and, ‘That’s a wonderful show!’”
Students can also expect “gorgeous sets with some special wow factors (and) a fabulous student pit orchestra,” as well as lots of beautifully-sung songs and laughter, according to Ms. Dunnion.
