The Broncos won three of their first five contests in December and are sitting at 3-3 as of Jan. 6.
They started off with a big win against the Gilbert Tigers 49-38, and followed it up three days later with another double digit win against the Highland Hawks 54-30.
Their next game against Salpointe went into double overtime and ended in a 61-58 loss. The Salpointe Catholic Lancers are ranked No. 13 on maxpreps.com as of Jan. 3.
Two nights later Brophy fell to Mesquite 73-60. The Mesquite Wildcats are ranked No. 4 on maxpreps.com.
But the Broncos rebounded from back-to-back losses to beat Perry 49-48 in overtime.
To start off the January games, Brophy lost a heartbreaker to the North Mustangs 50-48. The Mustangs were the No. 1 team in 5A I while Brophy was ranked No. 14 as of Jan. 3.
Next up the Broncos will travel to Desert Mountain to face the Wolves on Friday, Jan. 8 and then they will go to Mesa to take on the Jackrabbits on Tuesday, Jan. 12. On Jan. 14, Brophy will play the Red Mountain Lions at home.
