For Manuel Arce ’28, a Junior at Brophy College Preparatory, songwriter, and Catholic scholar, every day is a balance of deep reflection and creative expression. Beyond his roles as an archery captain and Student Leadership member, Arce’s primary passions include both theology and musical creation.

Arce’s theological curiosity began at the start of his Sophomore year and later evolved into a deep study of mind and faith. Arce enjoys reading texts such as St. Augustine’s Confessions or diving into theological works by Thomas Aquinas. He also keeps up with modern day theologists such as Father Mike Schmitz and Jesus and Whatnot.

Arce shares that same passion with his musical life. Arce plays in an alternative rock band named Deux Mondes (Two Worlds) alongside his classmate Rhys Lewis ’28, whom he started the band with during his Freshman year. With plans to release a new song in the upcoming weeks, Arce continues to combine his theological contemplation and artistic endeavors.
