The Broncos brought home two state titles in as many days.
Lacrosse and Track won state championships on May 10 and May 12 respectively.
Track tallied up a total of 85 points and scored points in 10 out of the 17 events.
Brophy athlete Devon Allen ’13 won three gold medals and a silver medal and set the state record in the 300m race.
Fellow sprinter Bobby Grant ’14 won a silver medal and three bronze medals and ran the second fastest time in state history in the 300-meter behind Allen.
All three of the relay teams placed in the top five.
Long Distance runners Marco Ruiz ’13 and Jack Rubenzer ’13 placed fifth in the 3200m and 6th in the 800m races respectively.
Pole vaulter Cole Walsh ’13 also cleared the bar at 16’9” for a second place finish.
On Friday May 10 Lacrosse beat Desert Vista 6-5 at Chaparral High School.
The Thunder never took the lead, but made run in the fourth quarter to come with one goal of tying the game.
Chris Van Ribbink ’13 scored the first goal of the game in the first quarter, Ben Cummings ’13 scored two goals and Landon Gagner ’13 had three goals.
The Broncos held off Desert Vista to win their fifth title in seven years.
