Brophy’s baseball team entered the state playoffs on a two-game losing streak and continued their struggles with two early defeats to knock them out of the tournament.

In their first game of the playoffs, the Broncos lost to the Hamilton Huskies 6-4 and dropped into the losers’ bracket where they met Cesar Chavez May 4.

Cesar Chavez beat the Broncos 12-5 in the game to move on and the Broncos, with their second loss in the double-elimination tournament, saw their season come to a close.

The Broncos entered the tournament as a No. 14 seed after a 17-10 regular season.

The team will lose seniors Evan Quinn ’10, Kevin Kennedy ’10, Kasey Coffman ’10, A.J. Steimel ’10 and several others who will all graduate this year.
