The Aspiration for Success Through the Life of Valdez

Anthony Francis ’28

Whether it’s participating in Mock Trial and arguing his case, or fighting hard on the rugby field, Josue Valdez ’26 approaches every situation with confidence and determination.

Now a senior, Valdez has reminisced on his past at Brophy in which he has been a part of numerous sports and activities. He currently plays rugby while also participating in Mock Trial and working with The Roundup staff. “It’s crazy how much time has passed quickly since I was a freshman,” said Valdez, “because I can remember entering in 2021. But, I think I’ve taken advantage of the opportunities that Brophy has provided, because that’s one of the big reasons I came here…and I’ve enjoyed my four years here.”

Born in Phoenix, Arizona, Valdez lives with his parents and younger brother Jacob. His parents’ work ethic in moving to the U.S. from Mexico has played a huge role in Valdez’s hard working mentality today. He is inspired by his parents and wants to emulate their success in his own life.

In the near future, Valdez says he aspires to attend college, receive a bachelor’s degree, and attend law school. His eyes are set on Boston College, a place that will challenge him academically and expand his love for writing and reading.
