For the third year in a row the National Scholastic Press Association named The Roundup a newspaper “Pacemaker” finalist.
The Pacemaker is the top honor the national association gives to publications. The Roundup is one of six finalists from across the country in the “Broadsheet 17 or More Pages” category.
The NSPA also named The Roundup a finalist in its Newspaper Front Page Design of the Year contest.
Tanner Nypen ’15 earned a finalist spot for his work on the November edition front page.
The NSPA will name Pacemaker and Design of the Year winners at the JEA/NSPA Fall National High School Journalism Convention in Orlando, Florida, Nov. 12-15.
In 2014 the NSPA also named The Roundup an Online Pacemaker finalist for its website, roundup.brophyprep.org. That award is released each spring.
The 2014/2015 Co Editors in Chief were Garrison Murphy ’15 and Austin Norville ’15. The 2015/2016 Co Editors in Chief are Cameron Bray ’16 and Anthony Cardellini ’17.
The Roundup publishes five print editions each year along with its frequently updated website and social media presence on Facebook and Twitter.
