THE ROUNDUP
Brophy’s fall intramural basketball league began Monday, Aug. 15 in the Robson Gym, where competitive games took place during lunch, said Brophy Student Council Advisor Mr. Pete Burr ’07 in an email to Brophy students.
The league consists of two divisions.
“Division 1 will be basketball players, upperclassman and teachers, although underclassman may sign up,” Mr. Burr said. “Division 2 will only be underclassman: no upperclassman, no basketball players and no teachers.”
Games will run Monday through Thursday for two weeks, ending Aug. 25.
Each game lasts eight minutes, and “the bracket in each division will allow two losses a team and the winners will move onto an eight team playoff,” Mr. Burr said.
He also added that each team can only have three players on the court at a time, although students had the option to assemble a team of up to five players.
Also, each team has a captain who signed them up and placed them in a division.
“Student Council worked very hard over the summer to make sure that intramurals are easy to sign up for and well organized this year,” Mr. Burr said. “I hope you all consider playing!”
The deadline for signing up was the end of the school day Friday, August 12, but anyone with questions about the league can email Pat McNeil ’17 at PMcNeil17@brophybroncos.org.
