Being a part of The Roundup for the last four years has taught me that you should pursue your passions, regardless of the recognition that you may receive. In my eyes, the joy that you find while participating in them is the real reward.
I’ve found more joy in improving at things rather than being good from the start, which is the lesson that I hope I can impart on you all. I haven’t been talented by any means when I started writing for The Roundup or running track and cross country, but I enjoyed working hard to improve myself at those things along the way.
Managing with Alex Gross ’24 this year has taught me to enjoy the company of the people that you surround yourself with because if you don’t, then what’s the point?
Having the privilege to work for The Roundup allowed me to learn about the most incredible people. Interviewing Arjun Hemmady ’24 for this edition was one of the most insightful conversations I’ve had this year. Working with David Robaina ’24 on the Armando Contreras piece showed me just how impactful a Brophy education can be.
It’s been an honor to share my thoughts on TV on the back of the entertainment section, and I hope one of you readers feels the urge to take over the column. Thank you for listening to/tolerating me and I hope you all continue to read the news for years to come.
